IME Video Library

About the Video Library:

Events held at the Health Sciences Learning Center (HSLC) can now be viewed in the new Video Library at http://videos.med.wisc.edu. The video recordings, consisting of educational presentations, Grand Rounds and seminars that have taken place at the HSLC, are a new resource offered free of charge to everyone. The library allows you to watch the past presentations on the computer of your choice and at the time that’s most convenient for you.

Presentations are listed in two ways: chronologically and by event or series, such as the Cultural Diversity in Healthcare Seminar Series, the Integrative Medicine Interest Group, the Curriculum Retreat and the Population Health Sciences Seminar Series. Links to sites containing material relevant to each presentation are available. A search function also exists on the Web site, as does a link to the Ebling Library research services department.

Recent Highlights:

	The Art of Lecturing David Rakel and Steven Zwickel speak about the power of using emotion in your presentations and share fresh ideas for engaging your audience. View the presentation
	Nutrition for a Busy Life Gail Underbakke, MS, RD, talks about how the foods we eat affect our bodies, and discusses a basic approach to healthy eating and how to stick to that approach during stressful times. View the presentation
	The Truth About Drug Companies Marcia Angell, MD, discusses the recent trend in rising prescription drug costs, exposing the budgets and agendas of drug companies and the realities about the products they push. View the presentation

Promotion of the Video Library:

Showcase 2007 - The annual University of Wisconsin-Madison Showcase is for those on campus who have a desire to SHARE best practices and LEARN from each other in order to IMPROVE work processes, learning environments, and the campus climate in both academic and administrative areas.

FOCUS Winter 2007 – An email was sent to all University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health faculty and staff announcing the launch of the Video Library on January 10, 2007.
